We are born and then we are gone. Nobody lives forever. Everybody gets to die.

In recent times, I have observed my atmosphere being engulfed by a specific reoccurring theme. Death. Death was the theme being explored. From my engaging in Youtube videos, to reading articles, listening to interviews and so on, the motif was ever so protruding. My ambience omitted to alter. After superabundantly musing, I decided to put pen to paper, then fingertips to keyboards, and share my views with a wider audience.

What is happiness to you?

To me, happiness is without reasoning. Happiness is invaluable, ceaseless, priceless, contentment, appreciation, genuine, raw.. pure… you feel me?

I aim to be happy like a child.

The notion that happiness solely resides in a job, a pair of shoes, mass amounts of money and so on, is a misapprehended illusion. Please, do not misconstrue any of my words. Go out there and conquer that dream job you love so much. Smash your goals and turn your ambitions into a reality. Yes, go out there and shine. In saying this however, the understanding that you can conquer your aspirations, without solely attaching happiness to momentary subjacent commodities, is the dawn of a beautiful and raw journey. At any given time that dream job you really love can slither away. Those shoes you invested so much money in, can easily fall apart. Right now, you can drop dead and die. Yes, just like that. What happens then? Do you die knowing the ostentatious lifestyle you incessantly perpetuated, was simply a facade used to cover up your immeasurable void? Do you die knowing that although you smashed your goals, your happiness stemmed from ephemeral things, therefore, happiness invariably eluded you? Or rather, do you die knowing the happiness residing within you was of a genuine nature?

One of my favourite movies of all times is, ‘The Pursuit Of Happyness’ starring Will Smith. Headings similar to book chapters, was a theme that was customarily indulged in during this movie. In total six headings were used during the movie. They consisted of, ‘Riding The Bus’, ‘Being Stupid’, ‘Running’, ‘Internship’, ‘Paying Taxes’ and ‘Happiness’. Confused? I’ll explain.

My first post was called, ‘The Art Of Your Journey’. In, ‘The Art Of Your Journey’ piece, I heavily indulged in explaining the understanding that life is a journey. In this piece, I maintain my stance. Just like the movie, ‘The Pursuit Of Happyness’ having different stages indicating a journey, happiness is also journey. A self discovery of what you like and what you don’t like. A realisation of what makes you happy and what doesn’t make you happy. Some of the things that used to make me happy when I was younger, may not necessarily make me happy now. Why? Because the only thing that changes in life is change. That is life for you. It is a journey. Maybe you are currently at a juncture where you have conquered your dream job, but you are steadily realising that although you have smashed amazeballs goals, happiness is not situated in a specific thing. This realisation in itself, is a clear example of happiness being a journey.

As I  frequently say, I am not an indigene of lala land, hence I steer clear from delving into self deception. Indeed life has a reputation of throwing the sourest of lemons, and expecting you to in a twinkle of an eye, turn those sour lemons into lemonade. Life. In spite of this, I still believe in resilience. As I previously stated, I aim to be happy like a child. The lemons will come, but that deep rooted happiness residing so strongly within you, is the special tool that will equip you with the strength to fight through all the lemons.

Life is a fleeting illusion. Subtly, yet with a sporadic approach, silently tumultuously fleeting. One moment we are here, and the next moment, in the fleetingness of a second, we are gone.
